Easy to make and just as delicious as boiled corn on the cob. Once you start cooking corn on the cob in the air fryer I am sure it'll become your go-to way to cook it. It makes the perfect side and is a great way to make use of your air fryer.
For years I have just been boiling corn and then in summer, finishing it off on the bbq. I have to admit though, that we don't often get the bbq out and so air frying corn on the cob just gives me another way get those delicious slightly crispy charred edges the bbq gives you.
This is such an easy way to cook corn and to be honest, you don't really need a recipe, except for the fact that many people just don't think of cooking corn in the air fryer.
I want to explain to you just how easy it is and hopefully inspire you to give it a go next time you're cooking corn on the cob.
Ingredient notes for corn on the cob
To make this corn on the cob you'll need:
- Corn - You can use full size corn on the cobs or cobettes
- Oil - I use a little olive oil but you can use any oil.
- Butter - I like to put a slice of flavoured butter on the corn as soon as it comes out of the air fryer so it seasons and flavours the corn
How to make corn on the cob in the air fryer
It is really simple to make this air fried corn on the cob. First I just lightly coat the outside of the corn with oil.
Preheat the air fryer to 195C or just put it straight in. I find the air fryer heats up so quickly than unless it's a recipe where the exact timings are important I just put it in and then start it.
Half way through the cooking time, turn the corn over.
When the corn is ready take it out and top it with butter or your choice of toppings and eat immediately.
I used a salted butter so didn't add any extra seasoning but depending on the butter you use you might want to add a little salt and pepper when serving.
What can you serve air fried corn with?
Air fried corn goes so well with lots of different meals. It's great with barbecued meals such as burgers, steaks or chicken. It's also lovely as an appetiser if you top it with something special. Try cheese and bacon? Or feta and onions? That is if you don't want to just serve your favourite compound butter with it.
I love this ras el hanout butter or this lemon garlic butter.
What can you do with any leftovers?
Any leftover corn can be kept in the fridge for up to three days. You can eat it cold. So why not put it in a packed lunch? Or serve as part of a salad?
If you want to reheat the corn you can microwave it for a short time or reheat in the air fryer. It'll take about 4 minutes to reheat in the air fryer.
